Komoroski2Washington, D.C., November 20, 2019 – Earth & Water Law, LLC (part of the Earth & Water Law Group) announced today the addition of Ken Komoroski to the partnership.  With over 30 years of experience in the practice of environmental law, including 26 years in private practice with major global law firms, Komoroski also served from 2004 – 2014 as Chairman and Federal Commissioner for the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission, a presidentially appointed position.  He has also been a Pittsburgh civic leader, volunteering his time to support the U.S. Attorney’s Office National Heroin Task Force and leading an effort to bring the 2005 ESPN Bassmaster Classic to the City.  Komoroski has been recognized as a leader in the practice of environmental and energy law in Chambers USA, Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, and Who’s Who in Energy.

“I have known Ken for many years and we are extremely fortunate to have someone of his legal talents join our team, particularly given his leadership and vast experience in the energy and environmental sectors,” said Brent Fewell, Founder and Chair of Earth & Water Law Group.  “I’m pleased to be joining Earth and Water Law and look forward to supporting the firm’s continued expansion of its energy and environmental practice nationwide,’’ said Komoroski, a recognized shale gas leader who has represented oil and gas producers and pipelines for more than two decades dealing with land use, local ordinances, energy and environmental regulation and permitting, and with lease and royalty disputes.  Similarly, he has represented clients in environmental, water usage and wastewater treatment matters and negotiated with the EPA and state agencies, including among others, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, New Jersey, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, New York, Connecticut, Colorado, California, Arkansas, South Carolina, Louisiana, Wyoming, and Oregon.

Before attending law school, Komoroski worked as an engineer and supervisor of waste programs at a major chemical company in Pittsburgh.  He also worked as an operations foreman of a wastewater treatment unit at a large chemical production facility, and a compliance specialist handling air, water and waste issues in Louisiana.
