WASHINGTON D.C., – October 5, 2020 – The American College of Environmental Lawyers

(ACOEL) announced today that Mary Ellen Ternes, Partner with Earth and Water Law, LLC, will begin her one-year term as President. ACOEL is a professional association of distinguished lawyers who practice in the field of environmental law. Membership is by invitation and members are recognized by their peers as preeminent in their field. ACOEL members are dedicated to: maintaining and improving the ethical practice of environmental law; the administration of justice; and the development of environmental law at both the state and federal level.

Mary Ellen has long been recognized nationally in the fields of chemical engineering and environmental law and advocacy. Her practice brings over 30 years of in-depth experience at the intersection of energy, manufacturing, air quality, hazardous waste management, infrastructure and disaster response.
