Tammy is recognized as an experienced leader in environmental legal matters in Michigan and nationally. Clients benefit not only from her legal experience, but also from her engineering background and her understanding of environmental policy, which allow her to create innovative and comprehensive legal strategies and compliance programs.
Tammy focuses particularly on environmental compliance and remediation matters on behalf of regulated parties, including
corporations, trade associations, municipalities, and airport authorities. She is active in evaluating, drafting comments, and litigating state and federal regulatory matters.
More recently, Tammy has focused her practice on the unique challenges of emerging contaminants, such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), including helping lead the national PFAS Regulatory Coalition. She also advises clients on product energy efficiency
compliance and enforcement with the Department of Energy and similar state programs. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Tammy served as a pollution prevention coordinator at the NASA Ames Research Center and was an environmental engineer at Ford Motor Company.
